New Zealand Honey

Honey has been recognised for thousands of years for its natural healing, antibacterial, and general health and vitality properties.

New Zealand has unique native trees including Pohutukawa, Rewarewa and Manuka which all produce powerful nectars. When combined with wild flowers, wide open pastures and clean air, this provides an ideal environment for bees to forage naturally and results in New Zealand producing some of the best honey available. Our honey bee products are sought after all over the world.

Manuka honey products are in particular demand since 1981 when Dr Peter Molan (MBE), Associate Professor in Biochemistry at Waikato University, confirmed that “strains of the New Zealand Manuka honey contain an extraordinary, naturally present, very stable and powerful antibacterial activity not found in any other variety of honey”. Manuka honey can provide you will superior nutritional health benefits, improved vitality, increased oral health and immunity, enhanced performance from pure natural energy and improved digestion.

New Zealand food standards are demanding and include regulations cover the extraction of honey right through to its final packing as well as the registration approval of business operating premises.
Honey health products include Bee Pollen, Propolis and Royal Jelly.

Bee Pollen is the nutritious food the young bees feed off that sees them grow to over 1000 times their original size within a few days and is sought after for treating tiredness, lowered resistance to illness, loss of appetite, weakness and depression, even premature aging and it’s digestive properties.

Propolis is the resin excreted from plants that bees gather to protect the beehive just as it protects the trees it came from. This protection is not only physical but also has chemical properties that surround and trap bacteria. In additional to being anti-bacterial, Propolis also has antiseptic, anti-fungal, and anti-inflammatory properties.

Royal Jelly is a substance fed by nursing bees exclusively to young bees over the first three days of their lives and the hive’s Queen bee. Historically royal jelly has been used to help retard the ageing process as well as many associated old age problems. Scientific studies have shown that it is a rich source of protein, amino acids and vitamin B:
