New Zealand Wine

New Zealand Wine is unique. Our combination of cooler climate, pure water, local soils and our passion for quality, results in powerful and distinctly different experiences.

Our wines, both red and white, are recognised worldwide for their purity, vibrancy and intensity. Cooler temperatures mean a longer ripening period is required allowing time for the flavour to develop while retaining acidity. It is this combination which makes New Zealand wines legendary. Our coastline enables us to grow a range of varieties and styles; including the Bordeaux-style blends and Syrah grown in the Hawke’s Bay, our internationally acclaimed Sauvignon Blanc with its crisp, light style grown in Marlborough at the top of the South Island, through to our much cooler climate wines, such as Pinot Noir and Riesling grown in the southern regions.

New Zealand wine must be made in fully certified winemaking facilities from100% certified grapes and certification is independently audited.

Wine is now New Zealand’s eighth largest export earning NZD1.2 billion last year and is growing rapidly as local wineries continue to feature strongly in the medal count at international wine awards resulting increasing worldwide demand.

Natural Exports New Zealand has diligently selected the following wineries as being some of the finest examples of quality wine varieties produced in the country.

Whatever your preferences for wine styles, you can be sure we have a New Zealand Wine to suit your taste.
